Description   Kaibab Limestone Sand & Gravel – 10203 LBS HO to Dust Special Effects Ballast for Realistic Railroad Fill The 10203 Kaibab Limestone Sand & Gravel bag contains a natural blend of crushed limestone ranging from HO scale-sized gravel down to fine dust. This product is manufactured as a special effects ballast, ideal for simulating railroad fill that is used to patch low spots and weathered terrain across Southwestern railroads. Railroads regularly use sand and gravel around the right-of-way to fill depressions, level uneven ground, and stabilize the trackside environment. This material accurately recreates that effect with real rock in soft desert tones of tan and gray. It’s particularly useful around switch stands, culverts, yard tracks, and dry washes. Application Instructions: Spread the material right out of the package onto your layout surface. Begin at low spots, slopes, or problem areas where fill would be naturally applied. Mist with wet water (plain water with a few drops of dish soap for even soaking). Bond in place with a 50/50 mixture of white glue and water, dripped or sprayed gently. Once dry, you can blend this layer with ARMballast powders or pigments for added realism.
